Description:This script locates an element on the page by checking the x and y offset of each parent element and returning a two dimensional array.
Instructions:use the function like this:

var myelement = document.getElementById('myDiv')
if (myelement){
position = findPos(myElement);
document.write ('left = ' + position[0]);
document.write('right = ' + position[1]);
}

// to position another element eg pop up a div layer on mouseover, you can do this:

myPopUp = document.getElementById('myPopUpDiv');
myPopUp.top = position[1] + "px";
myPopUp.left = position[0] + "px";
