Misspellings and Long Tail Keywords

In a previous article on Long Tail Keywords, I explained how long tailed keywords can be used to help SEO. In the article, I did not cover the fact that common misspellings can be lucrative long tail keywords. Take for instance the phrase 'Lincolnshire SEO' - this site is currently just outside page 1 of google out of 96,500 results. However if you try the mispelling 'Linconlshire SEO' - this site is currently ranked number 1 out of 95,700 results. The reason for this is that I purposely misspelled the link in a previous log post to see if it would get high rankings. The rankings for the phrase are indeed high, however the traffic that comes with it is quite low. Therefore the phrase is a long tail keyword.
