Just noticed today in the google webmaster tools that you have a new option for verifying ownership of a site. In addition to adding a custom metatag or uploading the verification file, there is also a new option to add a DNS entry.

I think this must be a very new addition because it wasnt there the last time I tried to verify a site a week ago.
