Aardvark joins Google

Aardvark - a kind of social network version of the retired Google Answers- has been aquired by google. Now, on many google help pages and services, there are links to Aardvark popping up all over the place.

The integration with google accounts is not great. You can link it to your google account email address, but you also have to add a password, so if your google password changes, you will also have to update your vark.com password. Not ideal really. You can also link it up to facebook, but I would rather not have lots of spam appearing on my wall from aardvark so I haven't done this.

I've registered an account and just had a bit of a play with it to investigate the opportunity for SEO. As of yet, there is limited scope since not many people will see any answer that you submit and until aardvark results are integrated into the SERPS, I can see little commercial benefit in spending too much time on it.
