I don't know whats happening with the google rankings in the last week, there seems to be a log of activity with rankings changing on a daily bases. This site used to be ranked 11 for Lincolnshire SEO (it does better for the misspelling linonlshire seo) and had dropped a couple of ranks, however for Grimsby SEO or even SEO Grimsby the site has moved up to second place (after approved index, which is just a directory site with very little value).

Things get a lot more competitaive when you put in Grimsby Web Design - with the SEO Grimsby keywords, there are 31,000 results - not a huge amount, but still tricky. If you put in Grimbsy WebDesign or web design grimsby, there are 91,000 results. www.mykeblack.com is ranked about page 3 for the web design phrases.

My friends' sites, www.kidd81.com and www.artsgraphica.com do a lot better because they are focused more on Grimsby than Cleethorpes. The artsgraphica site also does really well for 'Lincolnshire SEO', so I might have do a competitor analysis on the site to see where all the link juice is coming from. I'l be publishing an article soon on how to do competitor analysis, but it won't be this week.
