Nokia to use Windows 7 mobile or Android
Two years ago, Nokia was king in the mobile market. Now it's market share has been eaten away by the iPhone, and Android based devices. This has prompted Chief Executive, Steven Elop to announce that the company is 'Standing on a burning platform'. This follows the recent news that Android has overtaken the Symbian OS as the most popular mobile form OS. Part of the problem is the range of the various app stores which Nokia has not even come close to challenging.
Following on from this, there are reports that Nokia have been in talks with Microsoft with a view to a licencing agreement to make Windows 7 based mobiles. There are also reports that Nokia are considering using Android too. (Nothing of this has been mentioned on the official Nokia blog as yet.
