Chrome now at 10% Browser Share
Google Chrome has been gaining market share at the expense of Firefox and IE. The latest reports indicate that the Chrome browser now enjoys 10% market share. That's more than twice it's browser share from this time last year.
New versions of Internet Explorer and Firefox are due out very soon, which could again change the browser market. Internet Explorer 6 meanwhile has further moved towards obselescence with 11.6% of the market. This is still above the magic 5% figure which many developers use to decided whether to support legacy browsers.
For the mobile market, the browser share of the iphone/ipad iOS has climbed to just over 2% and overall, apple controls 5% of the browser share market.
